Introduction

It's a glorious day here at Cabinet Joint. I'm Justin, and in today's video, I'm going to show you how to install your doors and your drawer fronts on your frameless cabinets.

Tools & Supplies

On the screen are all the tools you'll need to accomplish this. Once you have those tools ready, we can get right into the installation.

Door and Drawer Assembly

The very first step to installing your doors is to install your mounting plates to your cabinet sides. What installing the mounting plates looks like is putting those inserts in the pre-drilled holes with the arrow facing towards the opening of the cabinet.

Then, once it is oriented properly and pushed all the way down, you can take your Phillips-head drill and tighten those. And you will repeat this step.

Now, as far as installing your drawer glides, you will take the upper row of holes on your drawer glide, making sure that is oriented correctly, with the front of the drawer glide facing the front of the cabinet, and then taking five Euro screws that will come with your job and installing all of them in the pre-drilled holes once again that are there for you. You will do this on both sides of your cabinet.

And then, going over to the drawer box itself, you will install the orange Blum clips. And in order to do that, you will take the small ½" screws that will come in your drawer packet and then install them at a shallow angle into the bottom of your drawer box, making sure you're not going too steep of an angle. Otherwise, that will want to tilt up.

And then, taking a ³⁄₁₆" drill bit, you will drill in the front of your cabinet box. The exact placement isn't crucial, but you do want it to be consistent.

And then on your front, you will measure 1" from the bottom if it's your top drawer. And then, if it is the middle or bottom drawer, you will measure 1¼" from the bottom.

And then on every drawer, measure ¹⁵⁄₁₆" over from the side. With all of those marks laid out, I'm then going to take my drawer box and line up my drawer box on all of those holes.

And then, using a 1¼" cabinet screw, I can install my front to my drawer box using those holes we just drilled out.

Then, to install the drawer, you can either pull out the slides, rest it on, and then push it in. Or you can just put the drawer box in, making sure you have it for the correct cabinet. Apply pressure, and you'll hear a click. That's when you know it's installed.

Now, to adjust your drawer, Blum has six ways of adjusting here. So, if you want to adjust left and right, you will take the little white wheels that are on the bottom of your clips and roll them either direction in order to move it side to side.

Now, if you want to adjust your drawer up and down, there are tabs on the far sides of the clips towards the front of your box, and you can push those backwards in order to lift your drawer.

Once we have our door mounts on the cabinet side, we can go to the door itself. And taking your hinge, there are going to be three holes for each of your hinges on your cabinet door. Line those up, apply pressure, and have it seated all the way into the door.

And then, once it's seated, you can press down on the latch. And by pressing that down, it actually expands the part of your hinge that are inside of those holes in your door, and it'll tighten it up. So, no need for screws. This is a really cool system by GE.

Get all of your hinges installed on your door, and then take it over to your cabinet where the mounts are. All you have to do is line up the hook with the bar on your door hinge and then apply a little bit of pressure in the back, and it'll click right in.

To adjust your door, these hinges have six ways of adjustment. The screw that is closest to the opening will adjust your door left and right, like you're seeing here in the video. And then the middle screw will adjust your door up and down, depending on what it needs.

And then the very last screw, furthest inside the cabinet, will adjust how far your door is inside or outside of your cabinet.

Using your six-way adjustability, your goal is to have your door ⅛" from the bottom, ⅛" in from either the top of the cabinet or the drawer above it, and then ¹⁄₁₆" on either side.

Last step with your door is to install a bumper. And that's all there is to installing both doors and drawer fronts in your frameless cabinets.
