Introduction

It's a glorious day here at Cabinet Joint. My name's Justin, and I'm going to be giving you a design guide on the variable width filler option for your frameless cabinets.

Design Guide

A situation that you run into with frameless cabinetry is that you only have ⅛" of space to your exposed edge banding here. And so, that doesn't give you any space to attach your crown or your filler to, meaning we need to connect to the side.

And that's where this option comes in handy, because you see this 90°; it has a cleat that you are able to attach directly to the cabinet itself. And then you have this filler here that you can use as your crown or on your side.

So, you can attach it up top as your crown, keeping it flush with your door, like so. And then you can use that cleat to just attach it to your cabinet.

Or, if you have space on the side and you're using it as a side filler, you can do that exact same thing too, mounting that cleat then to your cabinet. You can do that from the inside of your cabinet as well.

So, these guys come in lengths between 12" to 96". 96" is what you're seeing here. You can get those cut in any increments of ¹⁄₁₆" as you want. And then the filler itself can be anywhere between 2¾" all the way up to 8".

I recommend spacing your fillers a little bit more than what you think it will be, because you can always cut more off, but you can never put more back on.

So, this variable width filler option is fantastic for you as you are scribing everything tight to your walls and to your ceiling. And if you have any questions on it, you can reach out to your cabinet coach or you can call us at 888-211-6482.
