Introduction

It's a glorious day here at Cabinet Joint. My name is Justin, and in today's video, I'm going to be showing you how to install an end panel onto your frameless cabinets. This is a pretty straightforward install. On the screen are all the tools that you'll need.

Tools and Supplies

Then, once you have those ready, we can get right into it.

How to Apply an End Panel

So, if you have a five-piece door, you'll want to measure where your framing is for that door. You don't want to screw into the center panel. But because mine is just a solid ¾" door all the way through, it doesn't really matter where I screw.

If that is a factor for you, just make sure you measure out correctly on your cabinet. So, like I said, if you have a five-piece door, you'll need to make sure that you are measuring correctly so that way you drill and screw into your framing.

But mine's equal, and the main thing is you want everything to remain uniform.

So, I built a jig. You don't have to build a jig if you're not doing this a lot. You can just measure to the same spot every single time.

So, all I'm doing for my jig is placing it, lining it up here with the front, and then drilling through the side as well, and to the back, and then the back corner.

Now you have four holes, and this is where we'll screw.

Once we have our locations drilled here, we can then get the end panel. And it's either helpful to have a second person or to have clamps.

And then, depending on your design, lots of times in frameless cabinetry, you want your end panel to sit out ⅞". That way, it remains flush with your drawer fronts or your doors.

Once I have it sitting flush, I am going to apply a clamp. If you don't have clamps, you can just have a second hand. That works as well, but I do recommend clamps, as it's just easier to be able to hold everything all in one spot.

And then make sure that you are using the correct screw length. I have a ¾" side and a ¾" end panel, meaning I can use a screw less than an inch and a half. So, I have a 1¼" screw here. And with everything clamped, I can go and screw that in.

Squeeze in the back corner here and apply pressure as well, and everything fits nice and perfect.

Now, this end panel here is going to extend onto the back side of an island. So, that's why it's longer here on the back. Typically, it'll be flush with the back of your cabinet.

And that's all there is to installing your end panel. If you need to add more screws in order to make sure everything is fitting nicely, you can.

My recommendation, my pro tip, is drilling and screwing in places that you'll have access to after the countertop is installed. Because if this end panel were to ever get damaged, if you have them where you can just take out the screws and replace the end panel, that's going to be a lot simpler than trying to take off your countertop or anything like that.

So, if you have any questions on the installation of your end panel, you can reach out to your cabinet coach, or you can call us at 888-211-6482.

Thank you for watching. Have a great day.
