These decorative and functional pieces come in styles ranging from traditional and furniture-inspired to ornate and Greco-Roman designs. It's a glorious day here at Cabinet Joint. I'm Justin. In today's video, we are going to be talking about all things island legs. Next to me is one of our most popular styles. This is the Denmark style, and it comes with this metal sleeve here on the bottom. Keep in mind there are so many different varieties of island legs you can get — from more traditional-looking ones like this, to more furniture-style, to ornate Greco-Roman — all of your different types of styles. You can see them on our website and in our catalog. They're all available in the different types of standard wood species and finishes that we offer.
Even down on this Denmark style with the metal, you can have this be black, brass, titanium, as well as aluminum, in all of your typical standard metal finishes. These come standard at 35 and 1/4 inches. And you might be saying, "That is taller than my other cabinets," and it's true. The reason being is this allows you to shim up your cabinets to make sure everything is level, and then you can go ahead and just chop the top off — whatever that difference ends up being.
These are also available in different widths. These are three and a half inches, but they're also available in larger and smaller sizes as well. As you are designing your island, you might want to consider using a skirtboard or an apron to attach your leg to the rest of your island. This will provide structural support for your countertop as well as provide a super clean look.
So these are whole columns here, as you can see — it's an entire leg. But we also offer split, which is essentially half, and then you're able to apply it to the face of your cabinet or whatever you need. And then we also have 3/4 columns, which essentially leaves out one of your quarters — it takes out a square all the way down — and then you can apply it to the corner of your cabinet.
Another option that we offer is receptacle notching. If you'd like to put your receptacle in your island leg — because putting receptacles in islands with codes is constantly getting more and more difficult — this is a safe way to do it. And then you are able to have electrical located right on your island leg.
You can order these individually, so if you have an odd number of legs that you need for your island, that is no issue at all. As you can see, there are plenty of island leg options, and our cabinet coaches would love to guide you through the design process and help accommodate all of your desires for your island. They have decades of experience between them, and they would love nothing more than to help you get the kitchen of your dreams.
