While it should be obvious at this point if you have spent any time on our web site, we want to stress that these cabinets are “Ready to Assemble”. The doors, face frames, and drawer boxes come 100% complete, but the cabinet carcass/box must be assembled by the customer. Check out helpful videos here to better understand how our high quality dovetailed assembly blows the imported “cam-lock” method out of the water!
Note: Assembly services are available in certain markets around Harrisburg, PA. Ask your Cabinet Coach for details!
Your cabinet boxes will be plywood with a real wood birch veneered interior. Your exposed cabinet sides will be real wood veneer and your face frames will be solid Cherry wood.
We only offer all plywood cabinets by Conestoga. While other cabinet brands will offer melamine or flakeboard cabinets, plywood is more rigid, less prone to cracking/breaking, wears better and allows for that gorgeous real wood veneer interior.
Conestoga offers four door & drawer “configurations” (the industry calls this “overlay” vs “inset”). This describes how much a door “lays over” the 1-1/2″ face frame or if it is “set inside” the frame and flush with it. The image above shows the options described below, left to right respectively.
Our traditional overlay (left) is 1/2″ (leaves a 1″ reveal of cabinet around the door), but this is becoming increasingly less popular.
Full overlay(left/center) is where the door lays over the face frame by 1-1/4″, leaving a 1/4″ reveal around the cabinet doors Drawer fronts. This is, far and away, the most popular overlay configuration. We will quote your project using this full overlay option.
Flush inset (right/center) is where the doors sit inside the frame and flush with it with no other accenting detail.
Beaded inset (right) is where the doors/fronts sit inside the frame and the face frame itself has a delicate bead around its inside edge where the door/drawer front meet it.
Traditional 1/2″ overlay is the least expensive option. Full 1-1/4″ overlay adds about 3-5%to the traditional overlay price. Inset and beaded inset add 3-5% to the Overlay price with beaded inset being the more expensive of the two options due to the extra expense of machining the bead onto the face frames.
We will quote our standard CRP-10 Raised Panel door design in standard (select) grade Cherry wood. While we assume a complimentary edge profile, framing bead and panel raise, you can change these selections to any of our available profiles at no extra charge. Talk to your Cabinet Coach to learn more.
We offer the three drawer front “types” pictured above. The most common,”Matching” is where the drawer front matches the door design as closely as possible (left image). Your project will be quoted using the “Matching” option, but you can change this with your Cabinet Coach at any time. The second option, Slab, is where a simple one-piece drawer with a matching edge profile is used (center). The third option is called a “Designer Slab”. It is simply a slab drawer front (usually 1″ thick) with an outside edge profile that matches the PANEL raise of the raised panel door (right)
Please note, in some cases, matching cannot be used due to a drawer front size that is too small to allow it. In such cases, slab will be quoted.
We will quote stained cabinetry using our Autumn stain. Many other stain colors are available as well as numerous glaze and distressing options. Your Cabinet Coach can help you order samples and make final selections.
Your quote will include #619 crown molding pictured above. However, we offer dozens of moldings to help you dress up the top/bottom of your cabinets. You can make final selections with the help of your Cabinet Coach.
All drawer boxes feature dovetailed construction with the dovetails sanded and filled prior to clearcoat. Drawer boxes come fully assembled. While our standard drawer boxes are solid Birch, Soft Maple and Hard Maple drawer boxes are also available. We feature a huge array of drawer box options and inserts as well. Be sure to discuss options with your Cabinet Coach.
We feature Blum’s revolutionary premium soft close hinges and drawer glides. A lesser grade of soft close hinge is available at a slight savings but does not offer the performance or the lifetime warranty of Blum.
